Our Beliefs

St. John's is a congregation of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS).

Our Church
God has truly blessed St. John's for more than 125 years. Prior to St. John's organization in 1884, Chaska residents walked to Carver to worship. In 1885, our first church was built. It was destroyed by a tragic fire in 1921. The beautiful church in which we currently worship was built in 1922. As of June 2008, more than 1,650 members call St. John's home.

Our School
St. John's School was begun in 1886. Classes were conducted in the church. In 1892, a separate school building was constructed. A new school was built in 1956, with an addition added in 1962. In 2000, another addition was built, and much of the old school was converted into office and meeting space. 252 students are enrolled in preschool through 8th grades for the 2008-2009 school year.

Our Vision

Our vision is that by the power of the Holy Spirit, everyone touched by St. John's will be Knowing Christ and Making Him Known.

Our Mission

By the power of the Holy Spirit in Word and Sacrament, the members of St. John's will gather regularly at the cross to worship, teach God's word to young and old, faithfully serve God and others, and constantly reach out with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
