What is Confirmation?
Confirmation is a period of discipleship designed to help baptized Christians identify with the life and mission of the Christian community. It is not a graduation, it is not a sacrament, it is not even a rite of passage, nor is it a right that one is entitled to. Confirmation provides an opportunity for the Confirmand, relying on God’s promise given in Holy Baptism, to make a personal public confession of the faith and a lifelong pledge of being in a living relationship with Christ.
Confirmation is an important part of a growing and living relationship with the Lord. It is not the end of the journey, but rather, a big step forward in the faith journey of these young people as they grow as Christ’s disciples. The staff at St. John’s is prepared to walk with you and your child as we grow together in a deeper relationship with Christ.
Confirmation program includes:
- Attending Weekly Worship
- Sunday Morning Faith Formation for Students and Parents
- Classroom Instruction
- Service and Fellowship Opportunities
